Somfy Freevia Essential 1246277 is an automation system for sliding gates designed to make access to your home more convenient and safe.
Thanks to the
electric motor and included remote controls, it allows you to open and close the gate without having to get out of the car, a convenience especially when it rains or when you return home in the evening.
The kit is also designed for those who wish to install the motorization independently, thanks to the illustrated instructions, pre-programmed remote controls and simplified electrical connections.
Somfy RTS radio technology also allows the gate to be integrated with other compatible devices from the same family.

Easy installation of the Freevia Essential motor
Somfy has designed this motorization to
simplify the assembly and configuration of the automatic gate.
The package includes a
template to identify the fixing points, while the references on the motor facilitate the correct positioning of the rack.
The
numbered and colored terminal block makes it easy to connect accessories, while the two Keypop RTS remote controls are supplied pre-programmed.
The motor is secured to the ground using special anchors, which should be chosen based on the installation surface. Chemical anchors are not included.
For standard operation, a
230 V power supply is required. Before installation, it is important to check that the gate slides freely, is sufficiently sturdy, and that the path is correctly aligned.
Pedestrian opening and automatic closing of the gate
The Somfy Freevia Essential motorization has functions designed to simplify daily use.
- Pedestrian opening : allows only a part of the gate to be opened, useful for the passage of people, bicycles or motorcycles.
- Automatic closing : allows you to program the gate to close after passing through, without having to use the remote control again. This function requires the photocells to be correctly installed.
- Rapid opening : The system can reach an opening time of approximately 16 seconds with a 3-meter, 150 kg gate, excluding any slowdown phases. Actual time varies depending on the gate's characteristics.
- Manual release : if necessary, the motor can be released to manually move the gate.
Safety with photocells and flashing light included
The Freevia Essential kit
includes a pair of safety photocells that detect the presence of obstacles along the gate's path.
The motorization system also integrates
automatic obstacle detection, helping to limit risks during movement.
The
included orange flashing light visually signals the opening and closing of the gate, warning people nearby.
These devices help make automation safer, provided they are installed and configured correctly according to Somfy instructions and applicable standards.
Control your gate from your smartphone with Somfy TaHoma
The Freevia Essential motor is compatible with the Somfy TaHoma home automation system, which allows you to manage the automation through the dedicated app.
By combining a
Somfy TaHoma Switch device or a compatible Connectivity Kit, you can control the opening and closing of the gate from your smartphone, even when you are not at home.
RTS technology also allows you to use compatible Somfy remote controls to control multiple automations, such as gates, garage doors and roller shutters.
Important: The TaHoma Switch and
Somfy Connectivity Kit are not included in the Freevia Essential kit and must be purchased separately.
