This characteristic is given to it by a formulation specifically designed to withstand the temperatures developed in a fire and to make a perfect seal: joints sealed with Fire Resistant prevent the passage of flames , smoke or gas and guarantee sufficient thermal insulation for a period of up to 240. minutes, (EI 240) and in any case according to the classes of joints shown in the following tables.
Fire Resistant does not contain non-silicone plasticizers or flammable solvents.
Neutral type crosslinking does not develop annoying odors and hardening occurs by reaction with atmospheric humidity.
Finally, Fire Resistant is classified as a non-structural sealant for facade elements, for external and internal use, even in areas with cold climates (type F-EXT-INT-CC) according to EN 15651-1. The product is certified as EC 1 by the GEV body in terms of very low emissions of volatile organic compounds.

Fire Resistant is used for sealing linear joints of walls and fire doors, in
situations subject to fire prevention regulations , on mineral substrates with density and thickness equal to or greater than those tested.

excellent adhesion and hold on the most diverse , even porous substrates. Fire Resistant resists atmospheric agents and ultraviolet rays, in fact, after years of installation, there are no traces of surface micro-cracks or chalking.
Instructions for installing Torggler firestop silicone
- The sides of the joint must be solid, clean and degreased. In the case of particularly critical substrates, it is advisable to use the Primer Silicon pre-coating. Deep expansion joints must be filled with suitable preforms of polyurethane foam before sealing;
- Stretch an adhesive tape along the sides of the joint;
- Insert the cartridge in the special gun, open it, screw the nozzle and cut the tip in order to obtain a sufficient opening;
- Inject plenty of sealant into the joint cavity;
- Smooth with a damp spatula within 5 minutes of application, exerting a certain pressure in order to eliminate air gaps;
- Remove the adhesive tape.
The sealing can take place on both sides of the wall or only on the side not exposed to fire in the event of a fire. The certified joints must in any case adopt the geometry reported in the official classification reports of the product.

Joint size
- Minimum width = 6 mm, maximum width = 50 mm.
- For widths up to 10 mm the depth must be equal to the width of the joint. For widths from 10 to 20 mm the depth must be at least 10 mm.
- For widths between 20 and 50 mm the depth must be half the width.
- Certified couplings must incorporate the geometry reported in the official product classification reports.
