1 - Mini ornament on canvas

Mini ornamento su tela

This very simple project invites children to give vent to their artistic streak, creating small masterpieces perfect for adorning any Christmas tree. Break out acrylic paints and markers to bring the mini canvases to life. Once the paint is dry, glue a ribbon on the back to hang them.

And if you are looking for original gift ideas, these original Christmas crafts are also delicious greeting cards for grandparents, teachers, babysitters and friends!

2 - DIY Toy Drum Ornaments

Ornamenti a forma di tamburo giocattolo fai da te

Transform ordinary toilet paper rolls into beautiful drum-shaped ornaments with this easy DIY project. Start by cutting the roll of paper to a height of approximately 3.8 - 5 cm with scissors. Then color the outside with acrylic paint and wait for it to dry. Cut two craft paper circles of the right size to cover the openings of the roll and glue them securely with hot glue. Get creative by decorating the side of the drum: you can create a crisscross pattern with washi tape or apply tape with a thin line of hot glue if necessary.

For a flawless final effect, apply a strip of washi tape, ribbon or craft paper to both the top and bottom of the drum. Finally, attach a loop of ribbon to the side with a dot of hot glue so you can hang your little drum on the Christmas tree!

3 - Wrapped candy-shaped ornaments

Ornamenti a forma di caramella incartata

Revitalize those lonely or dull decorations by transforming them into delicious decorative candies! Take a square of baking paper and place a round ornament in the center. Wrap the ornament just like you would a candy, twisting the ends to hold it in place.

Then add some pretty bows at the ends for a perfect finishing touch and you're done: now you can hang them to give a touch of sweetness to your tree!

4 - Star-shaped ornament and decoration for the tree

Ornamento e decorazione a forma di stella per l'albero

Create a charming ornament or decoration for your Christmas tree by simply reusing toilet paper rolls and leftover wrapping paper. Start by painting the inside and outside of the rolls with contrasting colors and let them dry thoroughly. Measure 5 cm (2 inches) along the roll and mark the entire perimeter; then turn the roll over and measure 5cm down again, drawing another line around the perimeter, so you have a space of approximately 1.27cm (½ inch) in the center of the roll.

Starting at one end, cut 8 evenly spaced lines, stopping at the 5cm mark. Then turn the tube over and repeat the cut on the other side. Folding the cuts made on one side outwards, cut the rectangles so that they have a pointed shape. To finish the star, flatten the folds to ensure they hold their shape. Add a ribbon and hang your new ornament on the tree, or use it as a Christmas decoration. With a little creativity, transform waste materials into a twinkling star that will add a touch of magic to your Christmas.

5 - Christmas craft with images of animals and family

This year, bring a personal and loving touch to your Christmas tree with children's Christmas crafts dedicated to your loved ones, including four-legged friends! Start by wrapping a pipe cleaner around a small ornament. If necessary, use a little hot glue to secure it well. Create cute little paws by folding the pipe cleaner in half.

To add additional legs and a tail, cut pieces of pipe cleaner and twist them around the ornament, securing them with a dot of hot glue. Now, carefully and lovingly, glue a photo of your pet's face or a picture of your family to the top of the ornament, and feel free to add any other little decorations you want.

To finish, attach a hanging string to the ornament with a little hot glue. Done! You have created a unique and loving ornament that will make you smile every time you look at it on the tree.

6 - DIY Christmas craft with recycled wallpaper

Give new life to old wallpaper scraps or get a new roll to create these original DIY ornaments. Start by cutting the wallpaper into nine strips, each about 0.5 inches (1.27 cm) wide and 10 inches (25.4 cm) long. Then drill three holes in each strip: one at the top, one in the center and one at the bottom.

Take a 10 inch (25.4cm) long piece of floral wire and thread a wooden bead on it, then wrap the wire around itself to lock the bead in place. Now, thread the wallpaper strips through the center hole through the wire. Then, insert the bottom ends of each strip into the wire, proceeding clockwise until all the ends are threaded.

Add another wooden bead on top of the strips and create a loop with the wire, securing it by wrapping it around itself. Finally, tie a ribbon to the top of the ornament for hanging. This elegant ornament, made from recycled materials, will add a touch of originality and style to your Christmas tree.

7 - Children's Christmas craft with swan on pine cone

Lavoretto natalizio bambini con cigno su pigna

Bring the magic of the "seven swimming swans" from the hit song " Twelve Days of Christmas " to life with this simple DIY project. Start by painting a mini pine cone white and let it dry completely. To create the swan's head, roll the end of a white pipe cleaner around itself. Cut the pipe cleaner about an inch below the head and attach it to one end of the pine cone with a dot of hot glue, thus forming the neck and head of the swan.

Cut out a small triangle of gold craft paper for the beak and glue it to the side of the pipe cleaner head. From the felt paper, cut out two small wings and attach them to the pine cone with hot glue to complete the swan's wings. Finally, add a strand of twine so you can hang your swan like a Christmas ornament on the tree. This elegant swan-shaped ornament will add a touch of sophistication and enchantment to your Christmas, celebrating the beauty and poetry of this holiday.

8 - Biodegradable garlands for the Christmas tree

Ghirlande biodegradabili per l'albero di Natale

Make eco-friendly and completely biodegradable garlands that combine tradition with sustainability. These " old school " decorations are the perfect way to repurpose old ingredients from your pantry and create unique ornaments for your Christmas tree. Using a needle and strong monofilament thread, thread ingredients such as popcorn, dried fruit, bay leaves and candy, creating a colorful and natural sequence.

For an original and fun touch, you can also weave a decorative ribbon through pretzels and dried dough. Add some sparkle by painting the pasta with metallic gold paint! Hang your wreath on the tree, being careful to keep it away from children and pets. And the great thing is, once the holidays are over, you can simply remove the yarn and ribbon and compost the rest. Not only will you beautify your tree in a creative way, but you will also contribute to caring for the environment!

9 - Floral Christmas crafts with pine cone

Lavoretti natalizi floreali con pigna

Create a unique and charming Christmas floral ornament using simply a pine cone. Take some sturdy florist scissors and cut off the bottom half of the pine cone. You may need to make a few cuts and then twist the pine cone until it breaks.

Once you have the desired part of the pine cone, use hot glue to attach it to a round wooden disk. Make sure you let the glue dry well. Finally, glue a loop of ribbon to the back of the wooden disk, which you will need to hang the ornament. This elegant decoration, with its natural and rustic touch, will add a warm and welcoming atmosphere to your Christmas tree.

10 - Popsicle stick garland

Ghirlanda di bastoncini da ghiacciolo

Get to work with a collection of different sized popsicle sticks and invite the kids to participate by painting them three different shades of green. Once dry, use hot glue to attach the sticks to a foam wreath base approximately 30cm (12 inches) in diameter. Layer them creatively, alternating different shades of green to give a more natural and lively effect.

For a festive finishing touch, add a red ribbon, which will give the wreath a complete, traditionally Christmassy look. This project is not only a fun and engaging way for children to express their creativity, but it is also a great activity to do as a family, creating a special memory and a unique decoration for your holidays.
